The Glyptothek is the oldest public museum in Munich. It was opened in 1830. Behind the newly renovated temple façade lies one of the most beautiful and famous collections of Greek and Roman sculpture.
Highlights include the Barberini Faun from the Hellenistic period, the archaic early classical pediment sculptures from the Temple of Aphaia in Egina and the rich collection of Roman portraits.
