Werksviertel-Mitte Kunst

The series “homegrOWN” will present artists in the Werksviertel-Mitte and offer them a platform to act as curators and/or artists. The series is dedicated to the artist Silke Witzsch who died in 2017. “homegrOWN #9” shows the work of the artist Wladimir Schengelaja born in the Abkhazian Soviet Socialist Republic, among them depictions of figures, window pictures and scriptural images.

Guided tour through the exhibition fu:topia

The immersive exhibition fu:topia takes place across the entire Werksviertel-Mitte in Munich. The exhibition is part of the interdisciplinary project “Immersive Urban Food Landscapes”. In this context, scientists from Fraunhofer IAO and seven artists were collaborating to develop scenarios for urban food production of the future. The exhibition shows the results of this collaboration. The scientists developed real scenarios based on locally collected data and current scientific developments in the field of technology-oriented food production. This is contrasted with the artistic implementations and discussions of the topic within the exhibition. A variety of different forms of representation were chosen for this purpose. Works were designed on the border of fine art, immersion, intervention and performance.
