Sammlung Schack

A small gem among Munich museums is the Sammlung Schack. Images from sagas and fairy tales tell stories of far-off places and long-ago times. The collection of paintings held by poet and cultural historian Adolf Friedrich von Schack is one of the most significant collections of German painting of the 19th Century and will invite you to stroll through the world of romantic images and thought.
In addition, you will also be able to see masterpieces from the Neue Pinakothek which is presently closed for renovations.

“Improesie” in the Long Night: Stieler, Schwind and Feuerbach. Three Painters – Three Spaces – Three Poems.
Actor and singer Maria Maschenka – the “Grande Dame of sophisticated insanity!” – will be presenting three spontaneously improvised poems to three paintings chosen by her audience, for which new names will be invented.
