Giesecke+Devrient Stiftung Geldsammlung

With more than 350,000 banknotes, the G+D Foundation Banknote Collection is one of the most important collections of its kind. The variety is vast – it ranges from first issues from China in the 14th century to banknotes issued across the globe today. In keeping with this year's sporting events in Europe, the exhibition presents a selection of banknotes that depict the theme of sports in a wide variety of forms. The themes and motifs of the banknotes are contextualized by newspaper articles from the archives of the Münchner Merkur / tz.
