The European Patent Office (EPO) has been located in the heart of the city since it was founded. Many Munich residents will remember the high-rise building on the Isar, which was built by the architectural firm Von Gerkan, Marg and Partners and is now a listed building together with the sculpture park. The EPO is once again opening the doors of its headquarters to present highlights from the contemporary art it has collected over a period of 45 years and to offer insights into exciting concepts for using its historic premises. Not to be missed: a bar designed by Esther Stocker (see illustration) in the basement, the Schaulager with more than 350 works from the collection, an artist-in-residence studio with works by young Eastern European artists.

There will also be hourly high-rise tours on offer, during which you can not only discover classics from the collection, but also take a look behind the scenes of the architecture.

Every 60 minutes: guided tour Route I through the high-rise building (via EPA main entrance)

Every 30 minutes: guided tour Route II through the cultural space (via entrance A&T 5 -10)

Note: The exhibition in the cultural space of the European Patent Office can be visited independently. In addition, guided tours through the art collection in the cultural space are offered every half an hour. The guided tour through the high-rise building takes place every hour without advance booking on a first come, first served basis. It is not possible to make a reservation.
