Beneath the striking high-rise on the Isar, designed by gmp Architects (von Gerkan, Marg & Partner), an unexpected space for art awaits. For the Long Night of Munich Museums 2026, the European Patent Office is inviting visitors to its cultural venue where they will be able to enjoy selected highlights from the European Patent Office’s contemporary art collection. While the historic main building is currently undergoing renovation, the Culture Space located in the basement remains open. Visitors will be able to explore the visible storage collection featuring more than 350 works, selected pieces from over 45 years of collecting history, and the “Cosmic Bar”, an immersive installation created by Esther Stocker. During the artist talk, Esther Stocker will provide insights into the development and artistic concept behind this unique installation.
