For 101 years, visitors to Munich’s Museum Island have been able to experience technology and natural science in the truest sense of the word. Whether through guided tours or self-guided exploration, the museum’s 20 permanent exhibitions offer numerous interactive stations that can be touched and tinkered with, all during an evening stroll. In the experimental workshop, there are workshops for those who love to tinker. And the science shows in the auditorium, just like the demonstrations in the chemistry lecture theatre, regularly amaze the audience. There are also some surprising encounters in store, whether with mountain farmers talking about their lives and work, with enthusiastic amateur radio operators, or with dancing robots that bring the world-famous temple of technology to life during the Long Museum Night. Weather permitting, the observatory’s stargazing group will once again invite visitors to gaze at the stars on the roof terrace next to the ‘Woman in the Moon’. Both the restaurant and the Aviation Hall lounge will also provide opportunities for moments of complete relaxation during such a long night.
