Beginning at 8:30 pm: A synagogue, literally a “place of assembly” (for prayer), is of vital importance to Jewish life. This presentation will explore the name “Ohel Jakob,” the building’s architectural features, and the role of music in synagogue life. The synagogue choir “Schma Kaulenu” (Hebrew for “Hear My Voice”) will also perform a short concert. The Einstein restaurant in the Jewish Community Center will serve kosher specialties until 11:30 pm.
